On the Polish-Ukrainian borderland the pace of life is slow, but underneath the surface of things, the density of it leads beyond understanding. Life and death do not mean the persistence and disappearance of biological processes here, they are impenetrable forces that constitute reality. This is where the Whisperer lives. She heals people using the power of words, gestures and images. Rough nature, religious ceremonies and pagan rituals are what you will encounter along the path to this state of mind.

On a quiet night in October 1995, two young brothers, home alone and grounded for fighting, must uncover the source of strange, unintelligible whispers slowly surrounding their family's isolated country home.

A woman who says she talks with dead people explores different dimensions of language through her memories that involve whispers and water. She learns, unlearns and relearns how to speak. At the end of her journey, she encounters an existence whose voice resembles hers and sees how a language emerges from her breath.

Lee, who, upon moving into a new home, begins hearing strange noises in his walls. After a strange encounter with an exterminator, he contacts his friend Mo, and the two begin looking into the strange occurrences. When Lee finds an old box containing a knife inside his wall, the two are quickly dragged into a nightmarish series of events and gain the attention of a deranged ancient society known as The Family, as well as an otherworldly being known as The Speaker.
