COCKROACHES!!! Nasty dirty bugs that live in the shadows and run from the light. That’s what everybody thinks of cockroaches. Scav-engers. Scroungers. Spongers. Crunch frogs. Cat bait. Ugg-bugs. The insects you love to hate. So with all that good feeling in the world, the only thing cock-roaches have got going for them is…each other. But have you ever seen a cockroach singing and dancing? It’s time you did!

A man, a woman, a building and a plague of cockroaches...

A cockroach crawls into a man's ear.

“Cockroach is a handmade, cameraless animated film constructed with basic materials found around the home - newspaper, ink and Kool-Aid. Using cockroaches as a metaphor for language, it chronicles the pervasiveness and endurance of these primordial creatures. Text by Christian Cotroneo ("It's a bug's life in downtown Toronto," originally printed in the Toronto Star) is used to create the soundtrack.”

A colony of cockroaches feasts on the food in an old refrigerator, while a lone roach stands guard outside. When a man discovers the infestation and tries to destroy them all, the brave little roach defends himself and his fellows.

Three cockroaches journey through a living room in search of food. Along the way, they are met with challenges and vices.
