Movie in Appalachia woman proves father dead in lake

After discovering her father put their house up for his bail bond and then disappeared, 17-year-old Ree Dolly must confront the local criminal underworld and the harsh Ozark wilderness in order to to track down her father and save her family.

Abandoned by her family, Kya raises herself all alone in the marshes outside of her small town. When her former boyfriend is found dead, Kya is instantly branded by the local townspeople and law enforcement as the prime suspect for his murder.

A woman disappears after visiting her daughter and realizing her presence was unwelcome by her in-laws. Some time later, a body is found in a nearby lake.

The Lake tells the story of two sisters, each dealing in her own way with the childhood loss of their father. Claire still lives at home with Mom and spends her days on the lake in their father’s old rowboat. Laney has built her own life in the city, but when she comes back to visit, the sisters’ discoveries will dredge up the past and the secrets that bind this family together may just tear them apart.

The film centers on an emotional kayaking trip between a father and a son. The father has taken his boy into the deep Alaskan wilderness to tell him that he is divorcing the boy's mother, who is pregnant and waiting for them back home. While on the trip, the father and son get involved in a potentially fatal accident. Fortunately, an enigmatic mountain man appears to save them. Later he helps the troubled twosome find hope and salvation through God. Meanwhile, the wife, also finds a new life through old-time religion and happiness ensues all around.

Her mother died while racing jet skis. The daughter wants to continue with her mother's passion against her father's wishes. She also wants help from her estranged uncle who was part of the old racing crew.

After the death of her husband, a woman tries to get on with her life, but during a business trip she spots him alive and comes to realize that he faked his death.

A woman returns to her hometown for her father's funeral. On her way back, she accidentally stumbles upon a movie theatre that her father used to run - and ends up rediscovering long-buried memories of him and their complex relationship.

A young woman receives a message, and hurriedly leaves home. But the message was a trick to lure her into a trap, where she is assaulted and killed. When her body is found floating in the river, it is brought to her father. Once he realizes what has been done to his daughter, the father immediately sets out in an effort to extract vengeance.
