Nate is an excitable millennial novelist forced to leave his fabulous city life behind and move in with his grandparents after a bad breakup. But when his Holocaust-surviving grandfather Saul shows signs of cognitive decline and his grandmother Miriam refuses to acknowledge her husband’s early signs of dementia, Nate finds himself torn between his desire to escape retirement community life, family responsibilities, and an unexpected romance with his grandparents’ doctor.

The story of Nathan "Nate" Vaughan, an ex-SAS commando fighter married to Nicole, a police officer with the Gulf Coast drug squad. Shortly after their wedding and in the midst of their plans to open a private security firm, Nicole is tragically killed in a seemingly senseless shooting by a drug craze kid in a convenience store hold up. Nate falls to pieces. His only friend is Nicole's ex-police partner and they decide to pursue their own form of justice on the streets low life. The death of a rapist/murderer leads to Nate being pursued by both the criminal boss and the police, which leads to twists and turns and the discovery of his wife's assassination... and bringing the killers to justice.

Nate is a neurotic, recently laid-off investment banker. Joe is his unemployed, morally questionable, hustler roommate. Unable to find gainful employment (or pay for his impending wedding), Nate secretly tags along on Joe's work-for-hire Craigslist adventures. Each episode finds the unlikely pair doing an outlandish job for ridiculous people in an absurd attempt to earn a random buck.

After years in prison, Nate has made some dangerous enemies, including the powerful criminal gang he worked for on the inside. Desperate for a fresh start, Nate cuts ties with his old crew on his release from prison, but the gang retaliates by putting a hit on his family. Nate picks up Polly, the shy eleven-year-old daughter he hardly knows, and goes on the run to keep her out of harm’s way. As they attempt to stay off the radar, it becomes clear that their enemies are relentless and won’t give up easily. Nate teaches Polly how to survive and watches her transform from a timid little girl into a force to be reckoned with. Nate, in turn, learns what it is to love unconditionally as he bonds with his daughter and battles for their future.

Nate moves to L.A. to track down Cristabel, the woman he's been in love with since childhood, only to discover that his plan to woo her only has one hurdle to overcome: what to do with June, Cristabel's ever-present, not-so-hot best friend? What's even more complicating is Nate's growing feelings for June, whose true beauty starts to emerge.

Tough talk takes a soft turn as Nate, played by comedian Natalie Palamides, explores humor, heartbreak, sexuality and consent — with a live audience.
