stupid movie with a restaurant involved

A movie about one of my favorite restaurants.

Very funny, bizarre movie set in a disgustingly filthy diner.

The story of four criminals: a thief with the experience of Nimble, Alphonse the swindler Koshchei, an avid bully-a brawler with a Sledgehammer and a naive and stupid pet thief Sprat. They all met in prison and now, before they give up their criminal lives, they decide on a final grand robbery so that they have enough money for the rest of their lives. Former prisoners rent a restaurant next to the bank and intend to secretly dig into the vault, but suddenly their institution with a prison kitchen and boorish service becomes a hit with visitors. Now the guys have to decide whether to succumb to the romance of thieves and carry out a robbery or choose a quiet life with a new business for them.

The great restaurant reopens with new extravagent costumers and the same beloved manager.

The film begins with a close-up of a table in a restaurant covered with a checkered cloth, in a composition that strongly suggests a still life. It lingers there for a long time before beginning a slow outward zoom. All the while we overhear poorly recorded snippets of conversation. We see hands move in and out of the frame, lifting glasses and tapping cigarettes. We recognise Edie Sedgwick by her signature dancer's tights and jewellery. The group discuss a recent trip to Tangier; the conversation returns frequently to past and upcoming travel. At one point, a whole, uncut pineapple is delivered to their table, despite the fact that they are in an Italian restaurant: it is not meant to be eaten, but to evoke the possibility of adventure in exotic, semi-imaginary lands.

In the kitchen, two assassins await the arrival of their victim. But someone keeps sending them messages via the dumb waiter.

A restaurant manager in New York City has made a deal with a demonic entity in order to bolster his business. What could possibly go wrong?

Fragments of the lives of the customers of a great restaurant and the inconvenience of its manager.

A fly wreaks havoc on a family's dinner at a restaurant.
