Dinosaurs follows the life of a family of dinosaurs, living in a modern world. They have TV's, fridges, microwaves, and every modern convenience.

Cleaning up a weird scientist's messy study is a chore four kids decide to make short work of on a Saturday morning! The kids file animals into drawers according to their species, 'til they discover a replica of a dinosaur. They hesitate to dispense with the oldest creature on earth by filing it in the "EXTINCT" drawer! However, they soon find many surprises in store, including disagreement as to what creature actually is the oldest on earth, from four wisecracking and argumentative cockroaches eavesdropping from a shelf!

The dinosaurs didn't go completely extinct when the asteroids hit 65 million years ago. Today, every ten thousandth person in the country is a dinosaur, evolved to be human-sized, wearing sophisticated solid-light holographic disguises to maintain the facade, getting stoned off regular cooking herbs like basil, rosemary and tarragon, and living by their own shadow government's laws; any human who stumbles upon them is to be immediately executed. Two dino private investigators, velociraptor Vincent Rubio and triceratops Ernie Watson, are hired by one of Ernie's old girlfriends to find out why her younger brother committed suicide, and discover a dino cult called Voice Of Progress that wants dinokind to come out of the closet and reclaim the planet.

When a vacationing family's car breaks down, the youngest member must take it in his own hands to keep the bickering grownups from sabotaging their chances at survival. He quickly discovers, though, that this is easier said than done.

Teenagers Leo, Margaret, Jackie and Alex have been chosen to compete on a "Survivor"-style reality show called "Wild World." But on their journey to the Amazon jungle, their plane crashes on a remote island straight out of prehistory. What started as a competition soon becomes a lesson in teamwork as the foursome encounter rampaging dinosaurs and a tribe of early prehumans in this action-packed animated feature.

In the present a team of four anthropomorphic dinosaurs, created by aliens, must stop three anthropomorphic velociraptors who want to cause a cataclysm that would speed up global warming and make Earth's climate pleasant for dinosaurs again.
