White trash wedding and a funeral

A young Greek woman falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.

Following the death of their patriarch Gus, the Portokalos family travels to Greece for a family reunion, and to deliver Gus' journal to his old friends.

Amidst a racially tense Southern wedding, a biracial bride has the chance to confront her estranged Black father after accidentally hiring his wedding band to perform.

Set in the world of drug addicts and poverty where there is little hope of escape, two grizzled small town families vow to kill each other after the death of a young child. Chaos ensues when the realities of disposing of a corpse in the dead of winter set in.

A bride walks on the desert. She takes off her bridal ornaments and turns into a harlot. A multitude of people crawl on their bellies, become sick and soon die. A volcano erupts. White ashes of lahar cover the earth. The bride remembers her betrothal and repents--symbolically paving the way for the resurrection of her people. A final bridal march into a new heaven and earth takes place.

A week before a wedding the grooms father suddenly dies. The family can't afford booth a funeral and a wedding so they decide to do the only logical thing; mix the two ceremonies.
