Brotherhood is the story of Syed and Ali, two Australian brothers of Middle Eastern background. Syed, passionate about music and street poetry, finds himself forced to take on the pain of those around him – his mum's suffering, his community's problems and Ali's heroin addiction.

Two brothers, Eddy and Rocco, had their heyday on the “Indie Rock” scene at the end of the 1990s. We find them ten years later on an island, parading at the head of the local brass band.

Brotherhood tells the story of two brothers of Middle Eastern descent, who live with their mother in a social housing complex, known as Housing States, in the city of Melbourne, Australia. While Ali, the older brother suffers from heroin dependence, Syed, the youngest, tries to make a different life from his brother and finds a means of escape in urban poetry.

Kev Carmody is a prolific songwriter and musician with a great sense of humour. He has performed with Paul Kelly and Billy Bragg, both of whom appear in this film. When Kev released his first album, Pillars of Society, in 1989, music magazine Rolling Stone described it as "the best album ever released by an Aborigine and arguably the best protest album ever made in Australia". Kev was propelled onto the national stage as a voice of protest for black Australia. This film looks at Kev up close - cattle mustering in southern Queensland, making music in suburban Sydney and playing Long Bay Jail.

When the clubhouse of a group of country kids, known as the "Terrible ten" needs money for funding they invent numerous ways to make money. During their attempts at making puddings and selling mineral water they stumble on a formula for breeding coloured sheep.
