Grimes, an amoral chimney sweep, occasionally likes to steal valuables from his clients. One day, on the verge of being caught, he frames his young apprentice, Tom, for the crime. Tom runs away and jumps into a river where, instead of drowning, he finds himself transformed into a mystical aquatic creature. Swimming and breathing effortlessly, he discovers a colorful underwater world replete with creatures both cruel and kind.

Born under unusual circumstances, Benjamin Button springs into being as an elderly man in a New Orleans nursing home and ages in reverse. Twelve years after his birth, he meets Daisy, a child who flits in and out of his life as she grows up to be a dancer. Though he has all sorts of unusual adventures over the course of his life, it is his relationship with Daisy, and the hope that they will come together at the right time, that drives Benjamin forward.

In stifling Edwardian London, Wendy Darling mesmerizes her brothers every night with bedtime tales of swordplay, swashbuckling and the fearsome Captain Hook. But the children become the heroes of an even greater story, when Peter Pan flies into their nursery one night and leads them over moonlit rooftops through a galaxy of stars and to the lush jungles of Neverland.

Kindergarten children are very adept at imitating adults, picking up on their manner of behaving and speaking, their foibles and weaknesses. The film observes the family play, in which the adult world can be seen through a distorting mirror.

Only 11 year-old children play in this movie. Yet, the film is addressed to adults because of the change that is applied on a standard stereotype: instead of showing the relationship of an adult-teacher and a child-student, the movie focuses on how their roles can often be reversed and how a child can be a great teacher to an adult. This is what happens when children remind us the long forgotten values of childhood.
