Day of the dog

Two couples. One of the husbands kills his wife. He is temporarily helped by the other couple. The husband wants to help him, but his wife wants to turn him in to the police.

A very strange date indeed....

Appreciation for everything that is alive, and a moment of sadness for a dog's last day.

A local ruler bows down to the pressure from democratic forces and is forced to hand over a part of his province to a democratically elected leader. He also presents his pet dog to a poor peasant and his wife. For the poor peasant and his wife, the dog is not a mere dog, but a symbol of the royalty which had always inspired in them feelings of respect, admiration and blind worship. They bathe the dog in a very ceremonious manner and take much care of it. They even desist from tying it up. But when the dog bites and kills a duck and then a boy, it leads to problems. The democratic leader orders the arrest of the dog, followed by the arrest of the poor peasant. Then follow protests, talks, negotiations leading to more interesting developments.

This film spans one hot day in New York and follows the lives of many of its inhabitants as they go about their business.

Alan, a balding film director, loses his fiancé's dog at a gender reveal party on the morning of an important shoot. A critic named Nick gives candid observations on a series of incomplete shorts that Alan has spent his own money making. As the pursuit of the lost dog and the chaos of the short films begin to blend, Alan grows desperate for the day to be over.
