Conceptual overabundance was contrasted with nothing in Nothing, which, as the title promises, was nothing. Two years later, when Schmidt Jr. wanted to produce a film version of Nothing consisting of a whiteness that was gradually and imperceptibly to shift to black, the film lab thought the negative was faulty and stayed with the original, that is: it copied – nothing. A Documentary-style film about nothing.

Using found educational films, direct laser animation and nine-projectors, I attempt to realize the multifaceted materiality of nothingness through the eyes of those who may be most vulnerable to the void.

"Nothing" is a 2 minute visually inspired cocktail of animation, CG, calligraphy & photography, from an award-winning young creator Yoshitaka Takeuchi (Pridemedex Tokyo 2008, CG Art Contest / Outstanding Performance Award).

Vague moving shapes framing the black screen could be anything, but what they depict is nothing.
