The technicalities are topnotch, with some excellent Technicolor work, but this vaguely anti-foxhunting story has some basset pups winding up chasing a fox by accident, and one of them gets into all sorts of trouble when the fox captures him and takes him home to his kits in a sack.

A hunter and his dog are chasing a fox. The fox reaches out of the screen, grabs a pencil and eraser from the artist, and then proceeds to animate the film to suit his own needs. He erases the dog's legs and draws him shorter ones. Using the pencil he draws a variety of dangers, traps and hazards that frustrate the hunter, including rapidly changing the backgrounds. But the tables are turned when the hunter grabs the pencil.

A child rabbit is sent to school by his mother. On the way, he passes a carrot patch, which is actually a trap set by a hungry fox.

A child gets lost to a world ruled by fox boys and has to struggle for his survival.

Foghorn's going fishing, but a fox has other plans for him. Posing as a racetrack tout, he suggests Foggy get a hunting dog and go hunting. Once the dog is gone, the fox comes after the chickens. One of them pulls the fox alarm, and the dog comes running back (too late). The fox next poses as a quiz show host, tricking Foghorn and the dog into blowing each other up. They go through another cycle or two of abuse before identifying their common enemy. They team up and go after him.

In a town called Pudding on the Ritz, a sly fox attempts to trick a nitwit into opening a cursed treasure chest. However, the fox's trick comes back to bite him in the end. Based on the Fractured Fairy Tales segment from Jay Ward's "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show", this short premiered before the live-action feature "Dudley Do-Right".
