Eight London couples try to deal with their relationships in different ways. Their tryst with love makes them discover how complicated relationships can be.

It tells a variety of stories about love that has gone wrong: a brother and sister in an illicit relationship, a married painter who falls in love with his young male life model, a dance school teacher who is besotted with his senior student, and a lesbian couple, one of whom has role-play paranoia, and is caught in a complex love triangle.

Natalie, a small-town girl with big ambitions, and an equally big attitude, gets her first break in fashion, only to discover that her dreams come with a price to pay — in love, in her career and in her values — in this romantic comedy-drama set in the glamorous world of style and celebrities.

Since she was a child, Natalie Miller has always thought she was an ugly ducking. Despite her mother's encouragement that she will grow up to be pretty, Natalie has never believed it will happen. She rents a Greenwich Village apartment from an eccentric landlady and gets a job at the Topless Bottom Club. She rides a motorcycle to work, decorates her loft with a moose head, and rides up and down a dumbwaiter to get to her apartment. There Natalie meets David an artist, and the two have a love affair before she discovers he is married.

It is 2004. Natalie and Natalie are best friends, utterly inseparable, and stuck in the awkward moment between high school and the rest of their lives. They are different in every way, though practically the same person.
