Warren Miller is back with our 72nd annual film "Winter Starts Now," featuring the best snowriding from the mom and pop ski hill down the street to the highest peak on the horizon. Join us for a road trip through the Rocky Mountains, experience classic New England skiing, and hitch a ride up the coast of Alaska. Along the way, we'll be joined by old friends like Marcus Caston, Amie Engerbretson, and Jim Ryan. We're speed riding with JT Holmes and hitting the moguls with Jonny Moseley. We'll meet rising stars Madison Rose and Paralympic snowboarder Noah Elliott, and follow along as Vasu Sojitra and Pete McAfee complete the first-ever disabled ski descent of Denali. For our 67th annual ski and snowboard film, we're revisiting some of Warren's favorite places. We followed Grete Eliassen and Jess McMillan into the Swiss Alps, and Kaylin Richardson and Chris Anthony around Deer Valley to pay homage to Stein Eriksen. We chased JT Holmes, Jonny Moseley and Jeremy Jones around Squaw Valley, and Tyler Ceccanti and Collin Collins across Montana's Glacier Country. From Crested Butte, Kicking Horse and vertical lines in Alaska to pond skimming in Steamboat, these are your winter dreams, set to film. We also managed to dream up few spots Warren himself never dreamed of filming: Olympic snowboard champion Seth Wescott and Rob Kingwill carve sea-to-sky peaks at the end of the earth in Greenland, and the best big air riders in the world takeover Boston's Fenway Park. This year, we went where our legacy — and where the snow —took us. We went Here, There, And Everywhere.

Spectacular shots of snowcapped peaks and extreme skiers gracefully defying gravity, not to mention common sense, are the highlights of this entertaining video from the venerable guru of skiing movies, Warren Miller. Sparing no expense, Miller's film crews span the globe, shooting snowboarders careening down absurdly steep Alaskan peaks, ski guides helicoptering to remote slopes in British Columbia, and hardy (and uninhibited) Scotsmen who boldly catch some "big air" in kilts. This video is fraught with offbeat humor, including shots of a snowshoe race that could have been filmed by Mack Sennett, and footage of "face jumping," the oddball diversion of hurling oneself off Alpine glaciers and parachuting to earth. Miller's gentle narration, replete with trademark corny remarks reminiscent of old movie newsreels, mixes with a musical soundtrack of contemporary rock that is often uncannily synched with the astounding footage of extreme skiing.

Ski Bum: The Warren Miller Story chronicles the life and times of the legendary filmmaker who, through his annual ski films and national tours which began in the early 1950's, was a driving force in the development and promotion of the ski industry in America and throughout the world. Miller, who died last year at 93, sat months before his passing for his final interview. He reminisced about living off rabbit stew and sleeping in a teardrop trailer in his endless pursuit of the perfect ski run and he explained in great detail the challenges - both personal and professional - he faced over the course of his career.
