Family gathers at lake house that their mom is considering selling

When nostalgia makes her rethink the sale of her family cottage, a woman cajoles her husband and loved ones into one last getaway.

"House in the Lake" takes a look on an oppressive and intimate family. We follow the holidays in their remote summer house, the every day and the fragile normality, where the three kids absorb and partially channels the emotional energies of their parents.

After the death of their father, three siblings return to the family home where they grew up. They intend to sell it and follow their very different paths. But as memories surface in every corner, a fear of getting rid of the past and an impulse to reunite grows in them. As a last tribute to their father, there may still be time to make up for lost time and the house may witness new stories.

They used to spend every summer here, but now the daughters have grown up, the parents are divorced and the wooden cabin at the lake has to be cleared out. Those four, once a family, come together again for a whole weekend - and the feelings and memories of the past are closer than they thought.

The Morgans, a loving yet troubled family, go on vacation with intentions to reconnect with one another. However, when their autistic 10-year-old daughter begins to fixate on a mysterious friend who may or may not be real, and retreats further into her own world, family tensions start to rise to the surface.

When a first generation American son learns of his Russian immigrant father's financial catastrophe, he reluctantly agrees to one last tumultuous trip to their beloved family lake house before it's sold.
