Mother daughter travel out west gold mining town boarding house

A West Coast version of "Stage Door", set at a Hollywood boarding house for young women hoping for movie careers.

A couple of youngish adventurers go into the wilderness of British Columbia in search of a lost colleague. Their plane crashes and they find themselves at the mercy of a crazed old Scottish miner, who has lived in isolation for many decades searching the mountain caves for a chamber of long lost gold. He is prepared to do anything - including murder - to keep his gold for himself.

Mrs. Kelly runs a hoarding-house in the western foothills, having principally as her clientele the cowpunchers that work thereabouts, she meets with no end of trouble in securing a suitable cook that matrimonial proof, as the moment a fair queen of the pot and pan arrives she is besieged by the boarders, and invariably Cupid gets his work in.

In the heart of the American west, a miner toils day after day at his rocker box while his young daughter keeps his camp. His daughter persuades him to return to civilization, where they may enjoy the fruits of their labor. Both are happy in the anticipation of what seems a bright future. While she's away, a desert wanderer appears at the camp, and at the sight of the old man weighing his gold is seized with cupidity. He himself had toiled long in the wilds, but with no success, so he demands that the old man divide his gains with him. This, of course, the miner decries, and the wanderer uses force to obtain the old man's gold. The wanderer collapses in the desert, only to be rescued by a certain young woman: the miner's daughter.

A pair of precious loafers in a mining town learn from one of their "kidney" that Dick Mackey's partner, Bill Bryson, has died and that his gold dust is cached in Dick's cabin. They get sober and conclude to rob Mackey, but find that he is too quick on "the draw," and give it up.

When a young woman returns to Wyoming to bury her mother, she reunites with her childhood friend, a hard-living rodeo princess, who forces her to confront a shared trauma from their past.

Three women driving to Fort Laramie, Wyoming flash back to the Old West and are abandoned by a stagecoach driver.

In the Old West, the government hires three strippers to travel to mining towns and keep the lonely--and, no doubt, horny--miners entertained. At one town the patriarch of a grungy outlaw family discovers that the girls are getting $500 a day from the government, and decides to kidnap the trio and hold them for ransom. Unfortunately, he uses his two idiot sons in his scheme, and things don't go off exactly as planned.

A stopover at a roadside motel triggers a surreal and haunting psychodrama for a woman as she prepares herself and her family for a visit to her ailing her mother.
