Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis.

Veteran cop Nick Pulovski is used to playing musical partners; many of the partners he's had in the past have died on the job, and often as a result of Nick's risky tactics. But the rookie who's been assigned to help Nick bust a carjacking ring is almost as hotheaded as he is … and when Nick gets kidnapped, his newbie partner is his only hope.

The Rookie, formerly known as The Rookie: CTU in its first two seasons, is an exclusive series of webisodes made in 2007 and 2008, released over the internet, following the life of Jason Blaine, a new CTU Agent. The series is a spin-off from the TV series 24. The series is made close to the style of 24, in that it uses many of the same devices. For example, at the beginning of each "Day" there is a voiceover of Jason Blaine telling the viewer what time the series takes place between. Also, at the beginning of each episode, there is a "Previously on The Rookie" section, again with a voice over by Jason Blaine. The splitscreen is incorporated into the episodes often to show phone conversations as well as to wrap up each episode. However, it does not take place in real time.

A young soldier is discharged from the service and has trouble making a living. However, when he inherits a great deal of money, he finds his troubles only beginning.

Three new officers in a large metropolitan police department adjust to their new jobs and way of life. This is another TV-pilot that was first aired as an ABC Movie of the Week before becoming a TV-series.

Rookies is a reality television series which aired on the A&E television network. The show follows the training periods of rookie police officers in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and Tampa, Florida as they train on the beat with their Field Training Officers for their first 12 weeks. The episodes include rookie mistakes, training sessions by veteran officers, and final evaluations. Rookies debuted on October 21, 2008 and ended in May 2009.

Documentary filmed over the course of a year following trainee officers in Lincolnshire Police, charting their progress as they venture out onto the streets under the watchful eyes of experienced veterans.
