While on a business trip in Los Angeles, Edward Lewis, a millionaire entrepreneur who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up a prostitute, Vivian, while asking for directions; after, Edward hires Vivian to stay with him for the weekend to accompany him to a few social events, and the two get closer only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

An insecure waitress (Yvonne Yung Hung) who thinks all her problems will be solved if she has plastic surgery to become beautiful. Initially it actually does work. She becomes a model and starts dating a billionaire at once after her surgery.

A homeless woman, improbably well-groomed and (as seen naked to the waist as she changes from one shabby sweater to another) well-toned, spends from dawn till night pushing her cart around a seaside California city. Flashbacks show that she was once an exotic dancer and illustrate the point that, under the over-sized and dirty clothing that makes her "invisible", she is still the same attractive woman.
