Boy goes to land of dead looking for grandfather

A young man wanders through a graveyard in search of something unclear.

An old man decides to find the body of his son, a Kazakh soldier who died fighting somewhere in Russia, to bury him in the land of his ancestors. Travelling across the land with his grandson, they discover the harsh reality of war. And when they finally find the coveted grave, they realise that many brothers-in-arms are buried with the soldier. Every inch of the great homeland becomes the land of our fathers, the land of the ancestors...

After the recent death of his grandmother, a young boy brings his grandfather to his usual hideout spot. In an attempt to cheer him up, the boy presents his grandfather with an opportunity to revisit a sweet memory of his late wife. The grandfather obliges the boy and travels back to his childhood at the very same hideout spot.

In an early winter night in the north, a little boy learns of the death of his grandmother at the home of a stranger. The next day, penniless, he comes to the city cemetery for the first time and runs into another other boy who came to sweep his grandma’s grave.

A young man feels compelled to travel with his grand-father. The young man wants to find his father who ran away with the corpse of his ex-wife.

Three children take their grandfather to the graveyard to visit their dead grandmother. When they find out that granddad is tired of living and is actually waiting to die the children get confused, especially the youngest one. Granddad has to find a way to explain to her that death is not the worst thing in the world, which starts a chain of bizarre events. This becomes a learning full experience for the youngest one, even though it leads to a tragic ending.

Big Boy's grandfather is ordered by the authorities to provide a home for Big Boy, so he sends his butler to get him.
