Made by a Miami filmmaker, Larry Kleinman, this is a starling suspense drama on the future, and ecology. Two young boys are followed through the action of visiting a public building in which is housed exhibits of a vague nature. The time is uncertain, the atmosphere bleak, yet as we follow the two boys our curiosity is aroused as to what they will see at the end of this provocative journey. Useful for discussions on ecology, as well.

A psychological play about modern American life, people's alienation, society's likening to a zoo.

In 1934 an experiment by an amateur-scientist couple began. Named after a genus of moths, the Automeris Project placed a group of young children in an enclosed forest, leaving them to fend for themselves. On return visits, the couple presented self-made films, accompanied by live music, depicting the outside world. For them, these images were the perfect replica of reality seen in their expeditions. Nevertheless, the films were carefully framed, edited, and manipulated to induce a transformation and provoke the development of a new society.

A promotional short for the feature film "Roach Motel". The short film "Modern Living and You!" satirizes "Red Scare" era instructional shorts, while the time period itself is up in the air and left ambiguous. The short follows "Your Neighbor Margie" at the hands of a ruthless, demanding, and godlike narrator, as he puts her on display and on the spot, asking her questions, that he himself may not even know the answers to.

The woman is moving, attending to things, the man watches. Fun products scroll across the screen as a break. We switch lives. The young girl now watches. Actually she has always been watching, bemused. The obvious things go unnoticed but not by her. The title THIS ROOM IS WHITE was mentioned in a conversation with a friend who used it as a new expression of speech, referring to the obvious, the fact, the reality which often gets ignored. This movie was made with hand-drawn animation, 15 drawings per second and stop-motion with the "Wacky Stickers" (which is my collection for when I was a kid in the early 70's). Several scenes were rotoscoped from films from the 70's.
